The delicious highlight!

Our restaurateurs at Edersee can wonderfully sweeten your day.

Culinary delights in the region Edersee

Whether a simple snack or fine cuisine – in the region Edersee is cooked with care. Many hosts rely on regional ingredients, traditional recipes, and fine craftsmanship. There are cafés with waterfront views and places where cakes are still baked in-house. Smokehouses smell of fresh fish and beechwood. Small inns serve Ahle Worscht (a sausage made from the local sausages) or Edertaler Trout, often sourced from the immediate surroundings.

Some farms have a long history. The Dülfershof near Bad Wildungen and several goat farms produce cheese by hand. The Lauterbach farm near Vöhl has been distilling grain and fruit brandies from its own vineyards since 1786. In Basdorf, fruit wines, juices, and spreads are made from berries, fruits, and blossoms. And where a mill once stood, there is sometimes more than just a café today, as in Dalwigstal, where a small shop, a shady garden, and authentic cuisine come together.

Those who enjoy good food on the go will find it here. Not loud, not pretentious. Simply good.

Freshness and regionality are important to us. We source everything from farms and butchers we know, where animal-friendly and organic production is practiced. This is better than organic products from Eastern Europe, because short transport routes are also a building block for sustainability.
