Whether by car, bus or train, there are many ways to get to Lake Edersee!
Arrival and public transport
Due to its central location in Germany, the Edersee region is easily accessible from all directions. A widely signposted guidance system shows the right way to us on the access roads. There are a number of designated parking spaces for cars and buses in the immediate vicinity of the lake.
Plan arrival
On site you can travel flexibly by bus, and if there is no bus, you can use the CallSammelTaxi (AST).
Line 510 - Korbach - Waldeck - Edersee - Bad Wildungen
The line runs every hour via Affoldern to the dam to Nieder-Werbe and via Sachsenhausen to Korbach. Passengers from Medebach/Park Hochsauerland take bus number 550 to Korbach and change there to bus 510.
Line 503 - Herzhausen - Vöhl Waldeck - Hemfurth-Edersee
Bus line 503 connects Edertal-Hemfurth and Vöhl-Herzhausen. Passengers can use it on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as well as on all holiday working days Reach excursion destinations such as the barrier wall, the aqua park or the Waldeck lido.
Line 515 - Bad Wildungen - Edersee - Edertal-Bringhausen
Anyone planning trips to the southeastern shore of Lake Edersee, e.g. B. to the climbing park, the wildlife park or the Rehbach bathing beach, take bus line 515, which runs between Bad Wildungen and Bringhausen. You can find further information on the website »NVV«.
Call share taxi
After prior registration by telephone with the mobility center, the CallSammelTaxi (AST for short) travels like a regular bus to and from every public transport stop in the region at the normal NVV tariff plus a surcharge of one euro per trip. A maximum of eight people can be transported per trip. Trips must be registered at least 30 minutes in advance by telephone or online. By train to the Edersee
You can reach the Edersee comfortably and easily from all directions by train. From the Kurhessenbahn stops there are ideal onward travel options with the NVV bus lines into the region.
From the Rhine-Main area
From Frankfurt you can reach the Vöhl-Herzhausen national park station every hour with just one change in Marburg to the RB97 line. There are two-hourly connections to Bad Wildungen via Wabern with the RB39 line.
Ticket tip: With the Hessenticket you can travel cheaply to Edersee with up to 5 people. It is valid throughout Hesse on trains, buses and with a small surcharge in shared taxis.
From the Ruhr area
From Dortmund you can reach the Vöhl-Herzhausen national park station in at least two hours with just one change in Brilon-Wald to the RB97 line.
Ticket tip: With the Deutsche Bahn cross-country train for up to 5 people, you can make your journey to the Edersee cost-effective.
From the direction of Kassel
From Kassel HBF/ICE train station Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe you can reach Bad Wildungen with line RB39 or bus 500. From there there is a connection with bus line 510 to Edersee. You can easily get to the national park train station with the RB4 and change to the RB 97 in Korbach.
Ticket tip: The NVV MultiTickets are valid for 5 people, of which a maximum of 2 may be older than 17 years. They are a way to travel around the region cheaply on the weekends.
Traveling by plane
You can reach the Edersee region within one to two hours by rental car or long-distance transport via the airports Kassel-Calden, Paderborn/Lippstadt and Frankfurt am Main.

So that you can reach your travel destinations as a group on schedule and without obstacles, please register your train trip in advance for groups of 21 or more people.
Bicycle groups
Travel groups and school classes with limited mobility are possible starting from 6 people. Register no later than 7 days before the trip by calling 0180-6996633 or by email to grus.mitte@deutschebahn.com.
