Set yourself the challenge: approx. 42 km hiking marathon or approx. 84 km extreme hike!

On the partially certified quality hiking trails Urwaldsteig Edersee, Lichtenfelser Panoramaweg and Kellerwaldsteig you can choose between approx. 84 km of extreme hiking or approx. 42 km of hiking marathon through one of the most attractive low mountain ranges north of the Alps.

What counts is not who is faster, better or who reaches the finish line first, but rather the hiking experience with like-minded people. Everyone hikes at their own pace, enjoys the many small natural wonders along the route in their own way or lingers at the numerous viewpoints or food and adventure stations. Along the way you make contacts and motivate other participants to persevere, because everyone has the motivation to complete 42 or 84 kilometers!

In 2025 (12th and 13th September) we will start the 11th edition of the 24-hour Edersee hiking adventure.

Fully booked: hiking marathon; Daily stage (Saturday, September 13.09.2025th, XNUMX) - 65,00 € per person
Unfortunately, we are currently fully booked for the hiking marathon, so a waiting list is not possible. Cancelled tickets automatically go back on sale. Regularly visiting our ticket page could therefore be a success. Experience has shown that many tickets are cancelled shortly before the event or if the weather forecast is bad...

Some of the hiking trails are marked with reflective barrier tape, especially on the night stage!
The special markings have only been temporarily installed for the 24-hour hiking adventure in 2025.
Marking changes are marked with DinA4 sized notes.
The direction of travel to the next station must be observed.

As always, you will soon be able to download the hiking map as a PDF here. Of course, you will receive the card with all the information in a pocket size directly at the event with your participation T-shirt.

Food & Provisions

You don't need to bring anything from home. There is delicious food to eat at all food stations.

Condition & demolition

If you can't go any further, we will be happy to pick you up at the refreshment stations or in the districts and bring you to the start / finish

Every year in May, the Büren Hiking Day is organized by the Büren Tourist Association and City Marketing in cooperation with the SGV (Sauerland Mountain Association). All outdoor fans can look forward to one of the largest hiking events in the whole of OWL, which is being organized this year by the Siddinghausen village community. Depending on the weather, more than 1.000 participants from all over Germany are expected to hike through the diverse Büren region on routes of varying lengths with distances of 5, 10, 21 and 42 kilometers.
