In the region Edersee you can not only see nature, but also experience it. Whether on a guided tour of the dam, a guided hike or a nature adventure in the Kellerwald-Edersee: Here, knowledge is combined with movement and real experience of nature.

Over 500 guided hikes, themed tours, and events take place throughout the year in the region. Many of them are also suitable for children and families. From treasure hunts to bat nights to children's science days, there's something for all ages. Educational and adventure trails make nature accessible through play.

For hiking enthusiasts, the 24-hour hiking adventure is a real highlight: On certified trails such as the Urwaldsteig, the Kellerwaldsteig and the Lichtenfelser Panoramaweg, you will cross deep forests, narrow gorges and experience fascinating views over the fjord-like Edersee.

Public dam tour

During the leisurely tour of the 400 m long dam, our guides will provide you with exciting and interesting background information about the construction of the Eder Dam, the creation of the Edersees, the bombing in World War II and the national park with UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For holders of the MeineCard guest card Edersee+ Participation is free of charge, prior registration by telephone is mandatory.

When: June to September every Wednesday and Saturday

Time: Wednesdays 16:00 p.m. / Saturdays 11:30 a.m
Duration: 15 minutes.

It's not about speed or athletic performance, but rather about consciously exploring one of the most impressive low mountain landscapes north of the Alps.

You hike at your own pace, enjoy the small natural wonders along the way, take breaks at viewpoints, or connect with others at the refreshment and activity stations. Community is the focus. You motivate each other, strike up conversations, and, along the way, grow beyond yourself. Whether 42 or 84 kilometers: the choice is yours. The experience remains.
