Reckenberg Castle

Reckenberg Castle is a castle-like manor house, built on the remains of a former moated castle, in the winding and rocky Örksche Schweiz breakthrough valley of the Eder tributary Orke.

Reckenberg Castle is located on the Kellerwaldsteig and Lichtenfelser Panoramaweg around 1,5 km (as the crow flies) south of the Lichtenfels district of Fürstenberg in the forested and winding valley of the western Eder tributary Orke below the district of Dalwigksthal. It is located around 300 m west of the 275 m above sea level. NN, the confluence of the Heimbach coming from the north into the Orke and was built at the entrance to the then important Edertalstrasse into the upper Orke valley.

Access is not possible because it is private property!
