Waldecker Castle Railway

At a glance

  • Waldeck

The tourist train is brightly colored and looks like a steam locomotive with rubber wheels - and now travels at 30 km/h to the tourist hotspots in Waldeck - from Edersee up to Waldeck Castle and back.

The new castle railway replaces the failed cable car and makes the way to the castle an informative experience. During the trip you will learn interesting facts about the region and its residents in an entertaining way. Especially families with small children and people with limited mobility can experience Waldeck in a relaxed manner, and it is possible to explore the city and castle even in bad weather
