Experience, explore, learn - naturally (and) sporty! The youth education center "Camp Edersee" has 144 beds (pure group accommodation) distributed in 14 spectacular stilt houses built into the slope of the Breitenbachtal. The large area with many sports and leisure opportunities borders directly on the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. With its own indoor climbing wall (in the service center), canoes, mountain bikes and a large all-weather sports field, no wish for exercise is left unfulfilled. The Sportjugend Hessen offers various complete, active and training programs, especially for children and youth groups.
Camp Edersee is located in the Breitenbachtal on the banks of the Edersee below the village of Harbshausen (municipality of Vöhl). The open-plan and multifunctional Sports, leisure, seminar and service centre (Central building) forms the core of the youth education center. This is where the various student groups meet.
The Outdoor area of the camp is the ideal place for adventure and environmental education activities. The focus here is particularly on team-building outdoor activities. In addition to the natural surroundings with forest and water, there are numerous permanent installations, e.g. a low ropes course, a 50m long climbing net, a team seesaw, a climbing parkour.
The camp offers 16 accommodation houses. Of these, 14 are built as so-called pulpit houses. These houses are designed as group accommodation, with six to eight people sleeping on the ground floor and four more people on the gallery.
