The Hopfenberg can be viewed from a bird's eye view from Waldeck Castle. The Stollmühle used to stand there, which already looked a bit neglected when the barrier wall was built.

The 70.000 mark compensation should therefore not have been inconvenient for the owner. In 1756 two prisoners completed a 75 m long tunnel to operate a hammer mill nearby. As a result, the mill not only had constant, but also very special water power.
