A short tour, starting in the village of Hundsdorf, leads through the upper Urfftal.
In the newly designated Hiking Germany quality region, the Hundsdorf circular hiking trail H2 "Hiking in the tranquil Urfftal" offers a wonderful introduction to the region around Bad Wildungen.
Right at the beginning at the height of the Silberberg, when the weather is good, there are wonderful views to the north into the Ederbergland, to the south into the Hoher Keller and its highest elevation, the Wüstegarten. The impressive Beck oak awaits us at the edge of the forest.
Along the slopes of Silberberg and Lamperkopf, the path winds halfway up the eastern Urfftal through sparse mixed forests before descending into the valley, which is crossed at Hetscholdsmühle.
On the other side, you first go through the picturesque Heerbachtal before heading back into the forest. From the edges of the forest there are always different perspectives of the tranquil Urfftal and Hundsdorf before the path leads back to the village.
The inclines and descents are moderate, the path does not contain any significant difficulties and is easy to manage even for inexperienced hikers. Anyone looking for peace and quiet in a rural environment will get their money's worth on this route.
