The Way of the Cross leads in a circular path around the upper Schlossberg and is approx. 700 meters long.
Walking the Way of the Cross is not Catholic or Protestant, but according to the Gospel. The Way of the Cross is ecumenical and can connect ecumenically, just as it connected the members of the “Way of the Cross” working group. The “Way of the Cross” working group planned the Way of the Cross and also designed an accompanying booklet. The members came from the Catholic parish of Waldeck, the Evangelical parish of Waldeck, the Evangelical Free Church of Waldeck and the Evangelical Community of Sachsenhausen. The idea and considerations for this Stations of the Cross arose from the preparations for the Catholic World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne. The Way of the Cross is formed by seven crosses. These stations include Jesus' path to the cross: described through biblical passages and applied to our lives through meditations and reflections
