A beautiful bike tour that can be done on a mountain bike or e-mountain bike. Once you're over the mountain, you always go along the water.
It is a simple mountain bike tour that can also be ridden on an e-mountain bike. Since it mostly goes along the water, there are only a few inclines to climb. However, there are also a few more challenging trail areas and three bridges over which the bike has to be pushed or carried.

From the start at the Herzhausen National Park Station, it goes through the forest and even through a small ford towards Immighausen. From there through agricultural areas north past Goddelsheim into the Aar valley. Along the Aar we go east of the stream in the direction of Dalwigksthal, the last 1,5 km to there unfortunately have to be driven on the road (L617). From Dalwigksthal we continue along the Orke past Reckenberg Castle to Niederorke. Be careful, there are 3 bridges to overcome on this section of the route, where you have to push or carry the bike. In addition, there are narrow sections of the trail where particular attention should be paid to hikers. From Niederorke the path continues to Ederbringhausen, where the Orke flows into the Eder and you can connect to the Eder cycle path where you can comfortably cycle back to the starting point.
Only in very few places do you have to drive on or cross roads, so you should be careful here.
On Sunday afternoons you can stop off at the old mill in Dalwigksthal. There is e.g. B. very tasty, home-baked cake.
There are also good places to stop in other places along the tour, e.g. B. Oberorke, Schmittlotheim, Herzhausen and in the Kellerwald National Park Center.
The parking lot at the national park station can be reached by car from the north and south via the B252.
The start and finish of the tour can be the national park train station in Vöhl-Herzhausen. This can be reached by regional train from the south (Frankenberg, Marburg, Rhine-Main) and from the north (Korbach, Kassel and Ruhr area).
