Route 2 leads with views of the Büraberg.

Route 2 leads with views of the Büraberg. Together with the Eckerich opposite, the Büraberg forms the breakthrough valley of the Eder - the Porta Hassiaca. Here the Eder has made its way from the Wildunger Depression into the Fritzlar-Waberner Basin. The plateau on the Büraberg has been inhabited for centuries. The Büraburg was built here as a border fortress on the northeastern flank of the Franconian Empire. Past the remains of the castle along the Stations of the Cross, the route takes you around the summit with a view over the Edertal to Fritzlar.
