A tour of the dam wall, guided hikes or visits make your holiday colorful and give you a great insight into the history and nature around the Edersee. In the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature and National Park alone there are hundreds of guided themed hikes and information events. With exciting treasure hunts, bat evenings and children's research days, there is also a pure nature experience for children and young people. Thanks to the educational and adventure trails, they can also discover the exciting world of national parks and nature parks in a playful way.

Especially for passionate hikers, the area around the Edersee is a dream to experience varied tours. Whether on your own, in a group or as part of a guided hike, we have the right thing for everyone. You can put together an interesting mix for your holiday at any time from the wide range of guided hikes and tours. You can get information about the hiking trails and guided tours from every information center in the region.

Public dam tour

During the leisurely tour of the dam wall over the 400 m long dam wall, you will learn exciting and interesting background information from our tour guides about the construction of the dam wall, the formation of Lake Edersee, the bombing in World War II and the national park with a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participation is free for owners of the MeineCard Edersee+ guest card, prior registration by telephone is mandatory.

When: June to September every Wednesday and Saturday

Time: Wednesdays 16:00 p.m. / Saturdays 11:30 a.m
Duration: 15 minutes.
Treffpunkt: In front of the Edersee visitor center
Cost: 3,50 € per person.

Well over 500 guided hikes and events

take place every year in the nature and national park Kellerwald-Edersee and make every nature heart beat faster. Whether flora, fauna, world heritage or geology - with the nature park guides or rangers of the national park you get to know the local flora and fauna and learn interesting facts about the geological features of the region and the protected areas. Many of these guided tours and excursions can also be booked individually for groups.
